Recently we designed, styled, and coordinated a baby shower for a mom-to-be who was looking for an elevated shower event for 40-50 guests. The venue, a local veterans post in the heart of Fairfax, Virginia was transformed from a small ballroom into a room fit for the happy parents-to-be and their closest family and friends.
Adorned in rose gold and copper metallics and greenery, I wanted to give the room a vibrant yet understated look that underscored the client's vision without being too "girly". Violet is the Pantone color of the year and I definitely wanted to have muted purples throughout the space.
I brought in some feminine vibes with hand-tied tulle and balloon installations by Lory Balloons, which helped to bring some whimsy into the space. The client also wanted a kids table for arts + craft, which was incorporated into the design + layout of the room.
Floral greenery is something that I love incorporating into my design + decor because it gives the space an automatic beautiful yet classic vibe that allows all the styling props, furnishings, and flowers to shine. I opted for a greenery garland on the oversized fireplace and the sweetheart table, which I then added some purple spray roses to add some color. This ensured some color continuity in the space and the client and her guests really loved how it turned out.
